The Coffee Origin Story

Our Revolution Blend is nothing short of groundbreaking. The result of months of experimentation, tasting, and refinement, it’s a discriminating fusion of beans from two of the best growing regions on earth. Though grown half a world apart, our mix of Aceh, Sumatran and Mantiqueira, Brazilian beans complement each other perfectly. Revolutionary Blend is a full-bodied, medium roast with delicious apricot, almond butter, and chocolate notes.

Known for its rolling hills and uneven terrain, Mantiqueira de Minas is located in the Minas Gerais side of the Serra da Mantiqueira, in the southern part of the state of Minas Gerais, the largest of Brazil’s three major coffee growing regions.

Mantiqueira de Minas is one of the most awarded regions in Brazil for its tradition of producing high quality coffee. In 2011, it was recognized as (IG) Geographical Indication, in the modality (PGI) Indication of Origin for producing coffees with highly differentiated sensory profiles.

Aceh, Sumatra produces some of the finest coffee on earth. Informed by jungle flora and a unique wet-hulling process, Sumatra coffee has hints of butterscotch and spice with a creamy chocolate finish. Sumatran refers to coffee grown on the island of Sumatra in western Indonesia. Connoisseurs prize aged Aceh Sumatran beans because the aging accentuates their spicy, earthy notes.

Together these two beans produce an audacious blend that is (in our opinion) better than the sum of its parts. We are extremely proud of this delicious, bravely bold coffee which we consider to be nothing short of revolutionary.
